Well, today was the last day and we never really got any entries...

If anyone has made anything that can be completed within the month, I'll be willing to give an extension.

We'll be back with the Monthly Challenges next month, so look forward to that.

We've recently received a lot of unwanted attention and it just occurred to me how big a wimp I am with declining deviations. ;-;
From now on, please refrain from anything too raunchy and they have to be at least wearing pants.

And remember, we've still got the "Fantasy Adventure" contest going on, so please refer to the previous journal entry for more information if you're interested. As of right now, the deadline is August 12th, but depending on whether or not we receive some deviations by then, I'll move the deadline.

And, um, in a curiosity killed the cat manner, well, I'm not taking action on whatever caused this, but if anyone knows where this whole thing started, I'd appreciate it. I mean, I never really found this group to be too well known and I've seen the other shota groups aren't having problems at the moment, so I was just wondering...

Thank you!

We're nearing the end of June and we've yet to have an entry or have anyone saying they'll enter, so here's a small reminder just in case anyone is still interested. ;)

The May Monthly Challenge concluded recently. There is a winner, but it will be put on hold until the end of the contest.

The contest theme is a fantasy adventure. Basically, just make something fantasy-esque. Stories, cosplay, MMDs, etc. are encouraged. We will accept any medium for this contest except screenshots and vectors! They are still accepted into the group, but will not be allowed for contest submissions. It has to be your own creation (though bases are allwowed).

THE WINNER WILL BE AWARDED 25 POINTS!

THE CONTEST ENDS AUGUST 12th!

All regular group rules must be followed during the contest as well.

Be creative and have fun. :)

So......how is everyone doing? Please don't comment on my lack of doing stuff around here. Right now I'm here to talk a little bit about a new idea that's sprung up:

DA Staff Appreciation Week. Why? Because it seems fair the we should give credit where credit is due. The staff and admins do so much for us, why shouldn't we give a little bit of that back? It would be a lot of fun for everyone and anyone involved.

I'm really not the best at explaining, so I'll just give you people the links and let you do what you want. We're still in the planning stage, but from what I can see, it's looking to be an epic event. ^0^

news.deviantart.com/article/14…;<----The original news article. I suggest reading this to get a better idea.

staffappreciation.deviantart.c… <----- Here's the group StaffAppreciation itself. (hurray for double links! :D)

chat.deviantart.com/chat/staff… <---- This is the Staff Appreciation chat room.

Every little bit of help is greatly appreciated, and I hope that we can make this project a reality!

Thanks!

Congratulations :iconsaten0w0: on winning the April Monthly Challenge, sweetness: fav.me/d3dchod

This month's challenge is fruit.

It's been pretty erratic with the judging schedule (I mean, I honestly got confused), so it's been decided that all entries must be in by May 31 (10:00 EST). Any submissions later than that will not be accepted. The folder will be closed by then. Judging will take place within the next two days and the theme will be announced at the fifth day after latest.

MONTHLY CHALLENGE FAQ

What is the Monthly Challenge?

It's just a fun feature to the group. Nothing more, nothing less.

How is the judging done?
The admins will decide on which art they believe is most deserving. We try not to judge using quality control and art is usually chosen through cuteness, creativity, and the amount of effort put in. Judging will be done in the first two days of the following month. Please note that admins are allowed to enter as well.

What's in it for me?
These aren't really contests, so you won't get something like a request or points. The winner for each month can select the challenge for the next month.

What kind of challenges are there?
It all depends on what the previous winner wants it to be. It could honestly be anything whether it's fan art for a particular character, something related to an event that month, or even using certain types of technique/coloring.

How many entries can I submit per month?
There's no limit.

OTHER NEWS

I've been really considering another contest, but in order for that to happen, I will need input on contest ideas. Also, if anyone is willing to donate prizes, please feel free to speak up.
(Such a long title. I couldn't even fit everything. :/)
